I am not in a good mood and, perhaps, shouldn’t be writing until I get a good night’s sleep. Here goes anyway. How many remember Kate Smith singing “America the Beautiful”?

O beautiful for patriot dream

That sees beyond the years
Thine alabaster cities gleam

Undimmed by human tears!

America! America! . . .

My God, that sounds like a bad joke!

The Red Man lived on this continent for centuries. He revered the nature of the land that his Great Spirit provided. European settlers and their government systematically massacred those native inhabitants to control the land and its resources. That’s how things were done among men for a very long time. In fact, it is still being done. We protest when it is done to us.

Today’s America does have extremes — wealth and poverty, geniuses and morons, cultured and uneducated, humanitarians and barbarians, but is overwhelmingly populated by those who are increasingly poor, usually shaved and sometimes starched, and utterly barbaric in their appetite for toys and amusement. Are these the ones for whom patriots may be willing to die in order to preserve their liberty? Perhaps it is time to take another look at all of this.

The politically incorrect truth is that what we call civilization in any epoch — music, literature, science, politics and other philosophy — have been the accomplishments of, or patrionized by, a ruling class. Twenty-first Century America is ruled by psychopathic criminals and peopled by a gullible mob that doesn’t know or, worse, doesn’t want to know the truth about anything, especially 9/11, as long as there is gasoline at the pump, a working automobile, professional sports, beer, and television. We were wrong to think of basic needs being food, clothing, and shelter.

Hamlet confided to Rosencrantz and Guildenstern, “I could be bounded in a nutshell, and count myself a
king of infinite space, were it not that I have bad dreams”. Americans have stopped dreaming, but nightmares are coming long before they awaken. Please don’t start blabbering about alienated, unemployed, poorly educated, utopian Occupiers.

You are reading this because you are literate. I won’t blame you for thinking it pessimistic, even sociopathic. Take a walk around your own neighborhood in the early evening. Count the churches, but since it’s not Sunday the parishiners are not in them. They are at home mesmerized by the tube, perhaps now a flat screen. Drop into a local coffee-shop and try to talk about what really happened on 9/11. Don’t do that at a bar because you might get hurt. Come back home, turn your computer on and start to wonder if you and your fellow cyber-cronies are the only sane ones. Begining to feel terribly outnumbered?

Americans’ spirit, with reverence for authority, is as Nietzsche compared to that of the camel kneeling down to accept its load. In the same work, Zarathustra, Nietzshe went on to write, “To assume the right to new values — that is the most formidable assumption for a load-bearing and reverent spirit”. He contrasts the spirit of a camel to that of a lion.

April 15th is just around the corner. Because the criminals control most of the world’s currencies they don’t need more money. They want Americans to be load-bearing slaves. Most of us are slaves too, but less reverent about it. What will it take for Americans to become as lions? If they do not, what is worth saving?
