Breaking news: Rick Santorum tours Bemidji sweater vest factory

Republican presidential hopeful Rick Santorum toured the Bemidji, Minnesota factory that manufactures his signature sweater vest on Sunday, and newspaper columnists had a field day with the event.

“On Sunday, sweater vest-loving GOP presidential candidate Rick Santorum will be like a kid in a candy store,” the Fox News affiliate in Chicago reported. “The sweater vest has become a signature fashion item for the former Pennsylvania senator who has donned one frequently on the campaign trail. Earlier this month the campaign began offering them to supporters who donated $100 or more to help fuel the Iowa caucuses winner’s presidential bid.”

MSNBC explains further that “the sweater vest took on a life of its own with its own Twitter account and Pinterest board. Santorum has fully embraced the sartorial attention, adopting the slogan ‘don’t let sleeves slow you down.’”

But the New York Daily News may have overreached in its attempt to find a source of snark in the event when it commented breathlessly, “On Sunday, Rick Santorum will visit his own personal heaven. Just don’t ask him how to spell it.”

According to the News, “Santorum’s team touted the trip in a press release by misspelling Bemidgi, Minn., four times as “Bimidji.” Raw Story’s crack team of fact-checkers has investigated this claim thoroughly, however, and can confirm that according to the city’s own website, its name is, indeed, spelled “Bemidji.”

I really need your support to keep paying the server bills and keep this site running.

Sometimes I don't think people realise how much it costs to pay for a server and all the bandwidth costs that entails. I am out of pocket every month keeping this site running therefore I would urge you to help support me so the site doesn't have to close.

There are some very obvious ways to help me out that cost you nothing but it seems people are not choosing to take this route and the few mouse clicks it would take therefore I would urge you to consider making a small dontation to the site especially if you enjoyed this article or are a regular visitor to the site.
