Everything is about Money

Money Rules Everything - Have A Different Perspective

By Dark Politricks

As the world goes crazy, and we hear about the rich DAVOS crowd, telling us to stay indoors, work from home, don't drive or go on holiday, and now, all to save the environment. We should all be thinking about why they are really telling us this and continuing to extend the lockdowns.

This Orwellian state is something they have used COVID19 as a cover for getting us ready and compliant for ages. It all comes down to money, the money of the rich and the tiny percentage left for the rest of the world. Whatever the Global Reset's fluffy words try to cover, there will be no rebalancing of capital from those who currently have it and those who don't.

Normal people may end up worse off for those in Africa to gain a little, but you won't see Bill Gates becoming an average Middle Class income spender, or Jeff Bezos giving away his billions to end hunger in the 3rd world

When you think about it, it is pretty sick to hear these billionaires who could easily put their money together, combined enough to end world poverty, and probably give decent free health care to the unfortunate places who don't yet have it, such as some poor African countries or the USA..

Therefore I thought I would share this poem I saw about money from the famous British poet Benjamin Zephaniah. It's worth a listen, especially in these times.

People all over Europe and the world are starting to see through the ruse, and unwilling to be test subjects for long vaccine trials.

You can see from this Tweet how people in Germany are fighting back against the Police State that has been built up around us during our lockdown.

Now they are saying we should continue the lockdown for Climate Change. This was the main reason for all this, and now it is coming clear to many, when the super rich start telling us to stay home. All whilst they fly around on private jets, deciding undemocratically, what is in our best interests.

Using the stick of Climate Change as a threat, and the carrot of a UBI, they warn that Climate Change is going to bring about more pandemics and therefore lockdowns if the governments of the world treat them as they have done with COVID19.

Meet the Press host Chuck Todd during an interview with Dr. Anthony Fauci floated the idea that “it is inevitable” the world will face more viruses “due to climate change.”

“When you think about sadly having to prepare for this again, and I know there's a lot of folks who think that, due to climate change and due to the globalization in general, it is inevitable that we’ll deal with more and more viruses like this. The biggest lesson you are going to take away to prepare for the next one,” Todd said during an interview Sunday morning.

In the USA, the people were told in March to lock down for 15 days to “flatten the curve”. Bill Gates (who is not a doctor and was not elected or appointed by any government) later said that the world cannot go fully back to normal until most people get his rushed RNA vaccine.

That was a year ago. Most people around the world are still living under some sort of emergency powers due to the pandemic that seems like a Police State to any normal thinking person. The laws enacted that enabled Police to arrest, jail or fine you for walking your dog, or leaving your local area are just what globalists have wanted enacting for years.

Just read up on UN Agenda 21 and UN Agenda 2030 for some info on what the rulers of this world have wanted to do to us for a very long time, and COVID has been used as an excuse to implement these measures faster than expected.

It has given them an opportunity to enact laws and measures to restrict our travel, businesses, and health by using COVID as the excuse, but with Climate Change being the real reason for these measures.

For those who do not yet understand, there is no end to this. The bureaucrats, elitists and “experts” flexing their enforcement muscles do not view this as a temporary exercise. In their minds we would have all been better off long ago if we had simply accepted the fact that they knew better how we should live our lives.

They have nibbled around the edges of that concept for many years. COVID-19 has now provided them the opportunity to exert control over literally every aspect of what we used to call personal freedom, we are basically all living in some form of an Orwellian 1984 Police State at the moment.

The virus is just the excuse for the lockdown. Many scientists have come out to say this including 7,000 scientists who have told the British Government that lockdowns are not required anymore. Of course this has been rejected by Boris Johnson and his Tory cabinet.

From a paper entitled "UK Government Rejects Call From 7,000 Scientists & Medics To End Lockdown Measures" The British government has flatly rejected a call from thousands of scientists and medics, known as the Great Barrington group, calling for an end to lockdown measures.

The Independent reports: The Great Barrington Declaration, which has been signed by more than 7,000 scientists and medics worldwide, calls for a new strategy of allowing younger people to go about their lives as normal while offering “focused protection” to the elderly and those with underlying medical conditions who are most at risk from coronavirus.

Downing Street has rejected the call of the Great Barrington group of scientists for an end to lockdown measures, saying their argument rests on an “unproven assumption” that it would be possible to protect the most vulnerable.

It goes on to say:

As infectious disease epidemiologists and public health scientists we have grave concerns about the damaging physical and mental health impacts of the prevailing COVID-19 policies, and recommend an approach we call Focused Protection.

Coming from both the left and right, and around the world, we have devoted our careers to protecting people. Current lockdown policies are producing devastating effects on short and long-term public health. The results (to name a few) include lower childhood vaccination rates, worsening cardiovascular disease outcomes, fewer cancer screenings and deteriorating mental health – leading to greater excess mortality in years to come, with the working class and younger members of society carrying the heaviest burden. Keeping students out of school is a grave injustice

Keeping these measures in place until a vaccine is available will cause irreparable damage, with the underprivileged disproportionately harmed

It has won the support of UK scientists including Professor Karol Sikora, and Tory backbencher Steve Baker has urged MPs to offer it their backing, in a direct challenge to the government’s strategy. You can read the whole declaration here: The Great Barrington Declaration.

Yet despite Scientists and civilians fighting lockdown measures already, we are hearing rumblings from those who want to use lockdowns to combat climate change

The basis for this suggestion is simple, and terrifying in its implications. COVID-19 measures have been justified legally by the proposition that the disease constitutes a public health crisis

There are papers like this one that say that:

If those in power simply labelled “climate change” as a public health crisis then we they would be free to employ equally draconian measures in response and to continue them, in perpetuity, to ensure that this “threat” was vanquished.

Under a “climate lockdown,” governments would limit private-vehicle use, ban consumption of red meat, and impose extreme energy-saving measures, while fossil-fuel companies would have to stop drilling. To avoid such a scenario, we must overhaul our economic structures and do capitalism differently.

So as we are imprisoned in our own homes, and thousands of scientists warn of the dangers to our health, as well as our economies, the powers that be ignore them and allow a small percentage of people to get increasingly rich due to the COVID lockdown, and let them tell us as if they are informed and reliable sources, that we should keep these measures to help out with Climate Change, all as they get increasingly richer of course.

As I said in my last article

Why should we listen to the same people who have made billions off this COVID lockdown who fly about in their private jets, like Bill Gates, when they tell us we need to not travel or drive ourselves, and maybe even be locked down regularly for the sake of Climate Change

The 1% have made billions from COVID, the leader being Jeff Bezos who made over $90bn during the crisis, followed by Elon Musk who made $68.2bn and of course Facebook founder, Mark Zuckerberg who made a measly $46.5 billion in comparison. Bill Gates himself made only $20bn. but then he is helping the world by rolling out the vaccine and ensuring it reaches all corners of the globe.

So why are we listening to the same people who have made billions off this crisis as they suggest solutions to problems we may not even be facing, all whilst getting extremely rich from the consequences to society?

I just hope if the state continues their crackdown on liberty as shown in the Tweet above when people try to peacefully protest and are met with violence by the authorities, that more of us are willing to stand up for ourselves like the brave men in the video shown above.

It may literally come down to a fight to save our freedoms or live in permanent police state all on the say so of billionaires and despite scientists saying their is no reason for such measures in the first place.

Who should the government be listening to, the people or the 1%. I guess they are controlled, funded and ordered around by those DAVOS billionaires who fund their political campaigns. However all throughout this lockdown they have frequently been telling us that they are following the science throughout this pandemic and the self imprisonment is required for our own sake.

If so, why are they not listening to the scientists right now?

What I believe in.....

Do You Want To Really Know What I Believe In?

By Dark Politricks

This article is for people who want to know what I personally believe in as some articles which contain videos or references to other sites maybe to Left Wing OR Right Wing Sites depending on the news I am writing bout. This article should give you a good taste of where I personally stand on the political spectrum.

1. I believe we need a government however the size of it and the powers it can exert are very much up for debate. I think the COIVD pandemic has led to the UK Government where I live becoming more like the USA in that they have used a tragedy just like the US did with 9.11, to implement a surveillance state, and put laws on the books that won't be removed such as the COVID law that was only supposed to stay on the statute for 2 years but has already been extended.

COVID has been a perfect excuse for the billionaire class to get even richer, many having invested in Big Pharma companies that went onto make vaccines just before the outbreak. Now that may sound like a conspiracy theory but it's true, just like the fact they ran a war game called "Dark Winter" just a year before the pandemic of what would happen in a virus outbreak, how it would spread quickly worldwide and how the people would react and how governments would control them with lockdowns.

That and the Police bill gives them too much power to monitor us, hack into our computers and TVs and enter our houses without warrants plus ban protests against the bill, and any protest the bill deems too "loud" they can stop under new laws.

As the Independent says "MPs have voted for “draconian” protest laws in spite of mounting warnings over human rights and questions over whether police want or need the powers. A bill backed by the House of Commons would allow police to impose restrictions on protests based on noise and ban demonstrations by a single person.

They have also passed laws which let them lock people up who expose the UK Governments misdeeds and own war crimes. This really puts shackles around journalists and bloggers like myself that report on the UK surveillance state and intelligence agencies and their devious tricks such as the BBC and Reuters joint operation with MI6 to pay bloggers and YouTubers to spread NATO propaganda into the Russian sphere of influence, something we keep accessing Russia of doing to us, but that in fact we are doing to them 100 times over.

They buy a few Facebook adverts and the Americans accuse them of fixing the US election in 2016, because Trump beat the chicken hawk, neo-liberal, war-mongerer and one of the most hated politicians in US history, Hillary Clinton. Someone who had already cheated and abused the DNC rules to beat her opponent Bernie Sanders to claim the Democratic nomination.

Of course her loss in the election could not be down to anything she had done such as lie about events such as being shot at during the Serbian Kosovo war when she visited, or her links with multiple strange deaths, and how she managed to get away with having her own personal Email Servers setup with sensitive information on them which were hacked by WikiLeaks and spread e.g the Podesta Emails and the Anthony Weiner sex crime emails

No she had to blame someone and despite the fact Trump put even more sanctions on Russia, accused them of crimes they had not committed and pulled out of missile defence treaties that been set in stone for decades to decrease nuclear missile sizes in both countries, and stop the development of certain weapons. All that would seem to suggest he wasn't in Putin's pocket at all. Their #Russiagate claims have already been proven totally baseless and there has been no apologies by conspiracy theorists on MSM like Rachel Maddow on MNSBC.

He had to be a "Russian Puppet", despite the #Russiagate claims being proven false, and an impeachment trial where there was insufficient evidence to actually convict him of anything, and although he may have borrowed money from Russian banks, he was not in any way a Russian Hand at the wheel of Statehood as Mrs Clinton claimed. She claimed they used social media to hypnotise the American people into voting against her when in fact only a few thousand pounds were spent on pretty innocuous Facebook adverts.

2. I believe laws need to be made with the good of the people as the primary concern not the benefit of vested interests. You only have to look at the USA and how rich some of the politicians are like Nancy Pelosi who has made over $200,000,000 since becoming speaker of the House due to insider trading, or rather passing on to her husband which companies would be getting expensive Government contracts that would boost their share price before any news was released about it.

AIPAC literally forces potential Congress people to sign a form saying they would always vote in favour of Israel in any situation and for those that do sign they get lots of fund raising money and those that don't are smeared and labelled anti-Semitic. Cynthia McCarthy found this out the hard way

3. I believe lobbyists have too much power and influence over our political system. We need to reform our governing system so that politicians truly do represent the people and not the next vested interest hoping to buy a vote. Strict term limits should be implemented at each level of government so that career politicians cannot get comfy and there should be more referendums to allow knowledgeable citizens to take part in the decision making process.

4. I believe we require major election campaign reform that would enable new parties to run for office to break the 3 party monopoly here in the UK and 2 party system in the USA. The amount of money available would be staggered so that the more support the party gains the more finance they receive. This would stop large amounts of money being wasted on niche parties with little support as well helping larger parties fighting lots of seats. This would also encourage new political ideas to hopefully flourish into new parties and break the control of the existing centre ground parties that only provide an illusion of choice.

5. I believe specific taxes should be spent purely on the items they are taxing keeping to the original idea that brought the tax into being. For example road tax should be spent purely on the upkeep of the roads. Petrol duty should be spent on public transport to make it cheaper and more effective and duties on tobacco and alcohol should be spent purely on the health service. People would be much more likely to accept paying a tax when they can see where the money goes and it would also prevent the government from using money from one tax on other projects.

6. I believe in market economies but I am not an Austrian economist who believes the market knows best in all cases. Examples being Monopoly laws, certain employment law and some health & safety regulations. Without government intervention in these matters we would be working for less money, longer hours and in less safe conditions just like they still do in China, Bangladesh, India and other parts of the world. The market does not always deliver the right solution and without laws to protect the rights we have fought for over the centuries they would easily disappear in this global economy where there is always someone willing to work longer hours for less money. Just because there is a market in child pornography does not mean that it should be allowed.

7. I believe in total freedom of speech and expression as well as an Internet devoid of Government spying. We are living in the last days of an idealistic time on the net and everyday comes more news of the powers that be wanting to exert control over what sites we can visit and new ideas on how to log our every move or take away our ability to surf at will. A government should only be able to monitor a persons activity on the Internet with reasonable grounds for suspicion and a signed warrant they should not be allowed to trawl the web in the hope of uncovering someone doing something wrong

8. I believe that the UK government spends too much time kissing America's arse and we should always be acting in our own self interest rather than going along with the USA's merry wars of aggression because we want to be their best buddy. We need to repeal our unfair and unbalanced extradition treaty and ensure cases like that of Gary McKinnon never come to pass again. We need to stop any CIA plane landing at Heathrow or any other airport on its way to Egypt or Uzbekistan to drop off more renditioned prisoners to be tortured and put anyone inboard into jail for a very long time. We need to prevent any more prime ministers going to the US congress and making embarrassing speeches professing our special and unending friendship and instead realise that modern America has taken our place as the next great Empire and speak out against its high crimes and misdemeanours.

9. I believe we are fighting a phony war on terror that can never logically be won which is actually the whole reason behind it. We need to treat terrorists as the criminals they are and realise that this expensive game of hide and seek has cost us dearly in terms of civil liberties lost and increased security measures that won't prevent terrorists from attacking us but will destroy what remains of our way of life.

10. I believe that our intelligence services along with those of most modern countries do not act in the interests of "we the people" but instead collude with those powers that transcend nations to deliver us more quickly into the Orwellian police state that is rapidly rising around us more quickly as each day passes.

Nearly every major terrorist atrocity of the last 20 years has a murky link with at least one intelligence agency or another who either had pre-knowledge and allowed it to happen or manipulated it from within though plants, informers and contractors. Plausible deniability has become the modus operandi of most agencies in regards to terror attacks and we need to spend more time helping people see through this.

11. I believe in personal liberty and freedom to make ones own decisions in life. However I also believe that in our crowded island we cannot lead a purely individualistic life without thought for our neighbours. With an "I'm all right jack" attitude to life where the rich get richer and the poor stay angry society becomes a violent and unfair place to live. I personally have no problem knowing that a proportion of my tax helps to provide someone else health care or school education and I would much rather my money was spent that way than on wars, bailouts to the financial industry and a huge high surveillance state apparatus.

12. I believe we have already gone too far in the march towards a high tech surveillance state that only serves to give the government too much control over our lives. We should scrap the proposed national ID card, tear down 99% of all CCTV cameras, repeal the RIPA Act as well as numerous Anti-Terrorism laws and the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act of 1994. The scales of justice have swung too far in favour of the state and we should always remember that its much harder to regain liberties from a government once they have been lost.

13. I believe that our war on drugs also falls in the same category as the war on terror as being an unwinnable and illogical concept that has no chance of succeeding in abolishing mankind's desire to temporarily escape his surroundings. Add to that the fact most career criminals are addicted to drugs and have to rob to pay for them it makes sense to rethink this policy of prohibition. The following article of mine talks about this in more details.

14. I believe our public state schools needs a total overhaul so that if you leave the system with good grades and the ability to think critically its not through pure luck. Religious education should be banned from state education as teaching kids to believe in fairy tales is not a good grounding for anything let alone for a world where miracles never happen. Philosophy, sociology, psychology and politics should be taught from a very early age as well as critical thinking, logic and reason and economics.

Boys leave school with very little understanding of how to budget and live in the real world. Whereas girls often get taught on how to run a household from their mother boys leave school and usually go straight into the arms of banks and credit card companies and into a life of paying off debt. Most importantly the boy or girl that always questions  the teacher and asks "why?" should not be scolded or told off but nurtured and praised. Kids need to be taught to be skeptical and to always question authority.

So that's a list of some of the key things I believe in and hopefully they will let my detractors use the correct terminology when attacking me on Twitter

Now even though I believe in personal freedoms that is not to say that if I was granted supreme godlike powers over all mankind for all day and could ban or eradicate certain aspects of culture or human behaviour for all time I wouldn't do so for the good of humanity as a whole. These things would most definitely include: war, all organised religion, the Burka, cruelty to children & animals, public school boys, cheesy pop ballads and all Shopping Channels on TV.

Why the Grenfell Tower Blaze stands as a monument to Tory UK austerity measures

Why the Grenfell Tower Blaze stands as a monument to Tory UK austerity measures

By Dark Politricks

I am writing this one handed as I currently have a broken right arm which really makes it hard to blog at the moment, however after another sleepless night of watching YouTube I thought it necessary to at least post some of my views on the austerity measures that have infected both the UK and USA.

Whilst our Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn gets attacked daily in the mainstream news like Bernie Sanders is in the US, at least with his progressive agenda that many people thought would wipe the party out he actually increased Labour's vote in the recent unnecessary general election. On the other hand the Democrats seem happy to have a Republican in power than a progressive one any cost.

Our Prime Minister Theresa May has fought her last election and will probably be gone soon. Good!

However the performance of Labour showed us how many people are crying out out for more progressive policies and have had enough of the Tories austerity measures which have cut disability benefits to people who need them, increased rent on social housing if  you had a spare room and cut funding for many local authorities which has seen the closure of police stations (two in two towns near me), plus much much more.

Instead of boosting her power before BREXIT negotiations it has weakened them as she has gone from a majority government to a minority government propped up by the terrorist linked UDP. This is a party who are linked to the UDA terrorists in Northern Ireland.

As the Independent headline puts it in a recent article.
The UDA is a violent loyalist paramilitary group, which is still active today. Just weeks ago, it murdered a man in broad daylight in Northern Ireland – he was shot dead in a Sainsbury’s car park in front of horrified shoppers and his three-year-old son.
People in the UK are slowly realising that a Corbyn Labour government is not at bad as the Blairite's would have you think and when he explains his policies they are not so crazy after all.

You van see this at any Corbyn rally which sees huge crowds of people turn out, just like Sanders in the USA, and his compassion after the recent Grenfell Tower Block fire which killed 79 people.

The aftermath of the Grenfell Tower Block fire

Whilst Jeremy Corbyn was walking with the victims and bereaved people from the local community. The PM Theresa May was being booed and shouted at by local people. She had to be protected by a police line as she refused to meet residents and victims.

Theresa May refuses to meet victimd and residents of Grenfell

Personally I think this stands as a monument to the Tory austerity measures which had including "Cutting Red Tape". In this instance it meant that no sprinklers were on each floor and no fire extinguishers. Instead the local government decided to plaster the building in flammable cladding around the tower block to make it look "nicer" to the more affluent residents of the borough who can afford the extortionate prices of housing in the area.

Whilst rich Chinese and Russians buy up huge swathes of London housing pushing up prices and closing local communities whose local shops have no customers due to their purchasing being a way of tax avoidance and holding overseas assets rather than being used as homes.

The people of London have no choice but to move out of the areas their families have lived in for years to more cheaper areas, making it more costly to travel in to work each morning. They should be given a government discount on housing in expensive areas to keep them in the local community.

People such as nurses, carers, police, firemen, and many other important jobs that are needed for running London should not have to travel miles into the city due to Chinese buying up extremely expensive apartments and houses that kill local communities.

If I had my way there would be a law that if you did not live in your property for at least half of the year then it becomes a "usable government asset", one in which homeless people from Grenfell could go and stay in whilst waiting to be re-housed.

Why should we let London become a home purely for the rich and overseas businessmen to "stash their cash" by buying up housing.

There is not enough new houses being built in the UK and especially in London.

We used to have council estates but Thatcher sold many of the homes off which was good in some situations but not in others as the people who couldn't afford private ownership or rent had a dwindling supply of homes to live in.

We now have housing associations which mean many areas are filled with a mixture of private and council owned owned housing. This means that the rich live next door to the poor and we have a more integrated living arrangement. The problem is the people building new flats and homes want to sell them for high prices which the council cannot afford.

In some boroughs there is no housing available, even if you are homeless. You are given a list of private landlords who will take Housing Benefit cheques from the government. Guaranteed money.

However many of their homes are run down and need fixing, yet they let people who they know won't complain too much due to being scared of eviction, with guaranteed cheques from the government. Many of these landlords will take out a mortgage, buy a block of flats or a house, turn it all into bedsits with shared bathrooms and kitchens and then rent it purely to people on state benefits.
The mortgage is paid off in a year or less due to it being guaranteed money and the landlord get to live in a nice big mansion.

So housing is big problem in one of the most over crowded countries on the planet and the Tories only seem interested in allowing foreign investors to ruin communities by buying property as assets and not homes and building private housing where a one bedroom flat could be as much as £300k+.

I'm not kidding some private flats and houses just went up near me and in the space where there used to be a few houses with big gardens they have managed to squash in dozens of home and flats with walls so thin you could rows three flats away. I was given a brochure for this new housing area which stated I too could own a new two bedroom house for as little as £350,000!

Personally I think the burned out shell of Grenfell Tower should stand as a reminder to what austerity does to normal people due to the burden of the banking crisis being placed on the backs of the poor instead of the Banksters who caused it.

Does money buy the biggest sporting event in the world now?

Does money buy the biggest sporting event in the world now?

By Dark Politricks

As the World Cup gets on its way tonight with the first match between hosts Brazil and Croatia, we should remember that FIFA who run World Football, are mired in scandal, bribery and backhanders.

Investigations by the Sunday Times have shown that leading members of FIFA took bribes to vote for the outrageous bid by the Qatar to hold the World Cup in 2022.

In fact important figures in world football are already voicing their support for a 2022 World Cup re-vote if FIFA finds that new allegations voters were bribed are true.

Forgetting that the whole concept of playing football in 50℃ heat is mad!

I can remember the 1994 USA World Cup with players almost fainting in the heat, water bottles being thrown onto the pitch, and lazy slow football being played due to tired out players.

How Qatar is supposed to hold an event without building air-conditioned football stadiums, and I am sure some people are already thinking along those lines, I don't know.

It seems the only way players will be able to run for 90 minutes, let alone entertain a dry crowd due to the absence of alcohol and the seemingly necessity of supporters to consume large amounts of it before and after games.

Will Qatar make an exception and open its arms to thousands of England and Dutch fans who want to drink beer from noon to night or will they make examples of supporters caught drunk and doing the usual antics found at any major football event?

The Sunday Times investigation found that Qatar's top football official, Mohammed bin Hammam, used a slush fund of $5m to bribe FIFA officials with 25 FIFA delegates receiving $200,000 in cash after being flown out to Malaysia to discuss the bid.

The same disgraced and now banned official paid cash into the Presidents of 30 African football associations to get their votes and that even more cash was handed out just before the vote that was met with disbelief from other bidding nations.

This included England who lost out to Russia in the same bidding process for the 2018 World Cup. They had even brought in Royalty with Prince William alongside David Beckham leading the bid.

Even the UK PM was angry at the decision and claimed they had been lied to.
He said: “Every person we met whether it was the head of the FA in this part of the world, or that part of the world, they all said, ‘Yes, of course we’re going to vote for England to host the World Cup’, and then they voted completely the other way. We ended up, I think, with one vote.
“I’ll always remember Beckham saying to me, ‘I can cope with being lied to, but I can’t cope with people lying to the Prime Minister and the future king’.
However allegations of bribery at FIFA are not new and they have followed FIFA President Sepp Blatter for years and he stuck two fingers up at the investigation and his critics when he announced recently his decision to run for a sixth terms as the top dog in World Football and said the attacks on FIFA were all down to racism by UK investigations by the Sunday Times.

The head of the English football association, Lord Triesman, stood up in Parliament on Wednesday and used his parliamentary privilege to attack FIFA as a "mafia" and call Blatter corrupt.
"FIFA, I'm afraid, behaves like a mafia family. It has a decades-long tradition of bribes, bungs and corruption," he said during a debate in the House of Lords, according to Sky News. "Systematic corruption underpinned by non-existent investigations where most of the accused are exempt from the investigation make it impossible to proceed."
However it is not just FIFA who puts money first when it comes to football.  As football fans around the world get ready for tonight's first game between Brazil and Croatia in a country who has won the World Cup 5 times already, not every Brazilian will be cheering.

Brazil itself has been mired in scandal and protests for putting their World Cup bid in front of the needs of millions of poor Brazilians.

Protests and riots have been common place in a country where many believe the money lavished on holding the World Cup should have been spent on social programmes instead.

Protests in Brazil

From a recent USA today article:
The World Cup also is producing an outpouring of anger over the $11.3 billion the government plans to spend on the tournament when the once-booming economy has slowed, major cities are choked by traffic gridlock, public hospitals and schools remain underfunded and millions of Brazilians live in extreme poverty.
Last June, more than a million people in dozens of cities around the country took to the streets to protest an increase in ticket prices for public transportation. In recent months, teachers went on strike in Rio de Janeiro, bus drivers went on strike in São Paulo and police officers went on strike in 14 Brazilian states. This week, security forces used tear gas to break up a strike of subway workers in São Paulo.
So future World Cups have already been marked as being rigged and bought and paid for with cash and FIFA has done itself no favours with it's corrupt bidding process and it's attitude to the investigations into the scandals.

Sepp Blatter obviously wants a job for life as the top man of World Football and who can blame him when he gets paid so well whenever a major tournament comes around.

So whilst the slums of São Paulo are cleared so that the city can look nice to tourists and immigrant workers die in Qatar to build the stadiums in slave like conditions, we should remember that not everyone will be happy when the first whistle is blown tonight in Brazil.
