The UK Is Turning Into A Police State

UK Government Using COVID as Cover To Create Police State

By Dark Politricks

The UK is turning into a Police State before our eyes, that is, if you are watching and listening to the right news and not consumed by talk about COVID.

It's as if the Tory government is letting the dilly dallying over COVID rules lockdowns and passports consume everyone's thoughts, all whilst they implement some of the most draconian laws we have ever seen.

The COVID law that allows the Police to enter your home without a warrant if they suspect someone with the virus is inside plus preventing people sue the NHS for negligence, and force people to take medicine on ONE doctors advice only, is supposed to run out next year.

  • Forced detention and isolation can be of anyone, including children, and for any amount of time.
  • Authorities can FORCEABLY take biological samples from your body.
  • There’s no clear access to legal rights from as-yet unidentified isolation facilities.
  • Powers last up to 2.5 years...why so long?
  • Lockdown powers could prevent protests against measures.
  • State surveillance safeguards weakened.
  • Protections from forced detainment and treatment under Mental Health Act lowered.
  • Cremations can be enforced against personal and religious wishes.
  • Changes to the court system. Registration of deaths.
  • No inquests into suspicious deaths! No requirement for any medical certification for burials or cremations!
  • It also indemnifies the health service should they fail for what ever reason to provide care.
  • The most frightening part is only one medical 'officer' is required to sign off on a "COMPULSORY TREATMENT ORDER" which means... in the real world you can be forced to accept medication or held down and injected with whatever is seen fit which is the biggest and worst threat to your own freedoms. Schedule 8 Pt1.
  • Local Authorities will now be exempted from compliance with their duties under The Care Act 2014. Schedule 11.
  • So if someone dies in police custody or any type of custody they can simply dispose of the body without any paperwork medical exam or certification or inquest.
Sounds like a Police State already doesn't it, and I wonder how many people will be noticing to see if this law is removed like the Tories said it would 2 years after it went onto the law books. However as the new Police Bill prevents people protesting if they are too noisy then maybe we won't even have a chance to protest against the extension of the UK police state.

How many of you read about all the protests going on over Europe at the moment against their restriction of movement?

It is quite clear a lot of people do not like lockdowns and the threat of fines or jail for breaking them. However how many people have read about these massive protests in London or seen anything about them on the news in the UK. I haven't and no-one I ask has as well. There are a few articles if you search Google but they all come at the protests from a "Speaking to a conspiracy theorist at a protest" angle. So the mainstream media are obviously taking these protests seriously.

Soon however these protests will be crushed by the Police due to the new Police Bill that will prevent protests that are too noisy.

I think this protest at Trafalgar Square might come under the noisy part.

If you read this link from the governments site it will tell you all about the new measures, including stop and search, stopping protests, and broadening the range of circumstances in which police may impose conditions on a protest going ahead and more > https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/police-crime-sentencing-and-courts-bill-2021-factsheets/police-crime-sentencing-and-courts-bill-2021-protest-powers-factsheet.

Restrictions on protests in the controversial new policing bill breach human rights laws and will increase the risk of peaceful demonstrators in England and Wales being criminalised, MPs and peers have warned.

They say the police, crime, sentencing and courts (PCSC) bill, which has provoked widespread protests, contains provisions that are unnecessary and disproportionate and confer unacceptably wide and vague powers to curb demonstrations on the home secretary and police.

They are keeping the uprising against the new UK Police State as quiet as possible. The original video was taken down at YouTube so I found a video on BitChute about the London Protests against Lockdowns, and anti-tyranny Police State measures being brought forward in the UK that would ban such protests like these for being too noisy  > https://www.bitchute.com/video/GRskh0SZ3ABv/

However you can watch this video from The Duran about the Tories new Official Secrets Act. It is supposed to be to prosecute spies, but it is being modelled on the US version, but worse, and it is aimed at not just papers but anyone, including maybe me, for passing on information from whistle-blowers about illegal acts that the UK may have committed.

This can range from things I have already reported on over the years including something mentioned in the video below such as:
So from what is spoken about in this video about the new law, will it just affect papers and if so why are they not writing about the dangers of it?

Or is it aimed more at bloggers and people like Julian Assange so that the UK can lock people up who question or repeat whistle-blowers information about UK secrets, without a public interest defence.

From the Duran, Boris Johnson launches a new Secrets Act to imprison Journalists who dare question the government.
Official Secrets Act: Boris Johnson 'Doesn't Want' Journos Prosecuted for 'Doing Their Public Duty'

It looks like to me, that the UK is turning into a real police state and this is just the thin edge of the wedge, that even Church leaders have come out to speak against in the UK.

I guess if you are not reading #Altnews you will not even know about any of this, but if you are you should be very worried.

Even posting on Facebook or Twitter might land you in jail depending on the wording of the bill.

Anything that exposes UK Foreign Policy crimes, intelligence agencies doing wrong doings, or war crimes could land you in jail for the rest of your life.

Now does that sound like a free speech democracy?

Just don't expect anyone to come and protest for your innocence, the police will ban that for being too noisy straight away.

Thin edge of the wedge indeed....

Why Julian Assange Should Be Pardoned

Ryan Grim Breaks Down Why Julian Assange Should Not Be Prosecuted

By Dark Politricks

Julian Assange just spent his 50th birthday in Belmarsh prison. The prison in the UK that high security prisoners are stored and abused, nicknamed "The Meat Grinder". He should not be there, and although I disagree with a lot of what Ryan Grim has to say, this piece he did on The Hill really breaks down what he is accused of, and why he should not be prosecuted.

The USA under Joe Biden is carrying on the savage torture of this journalist, by carrying on to appeal the Judges ruling that he should not be extradited to the US due to their inhuman conditions for prisoners. The Judge even mentioning the case of sex offender Jeffery Epstein, and the likelihood Assange would die in a US Super Max prison. The US has come back to say that if convicted in their show trial, he would not go to a Super Max prison to spend the next 300 years or whatever stupid sentence they are going to try for.

However once extradited there is nothing stopping them from breaking any promises they had made to the UK court and putting him in solitary, in a tiny box cell, with little human contact. The no of times the US has lied in extradition cases is huge, they will and do say anything to get their prisoner back to their country, where they can then do what they like with him.

It seems that despite the FBI's main witness coming out and telling the truth about the lies he told to get off charges himself related to child molesting and fraud by lying about Assange in an Icelandic Newspaper, that I printed in my last article, the US is still carrying on their charade of a prosecution. They are labelling him a hacker when the only evidence comes from Mr Thordason, who has admitted he lied to the FBI about nearly all the involvement he had with Julian Assange and WikiLeaks.

Therefore if you remove his testimony, Julian has not been proven to have hacked anything. All the evidence comes from the lying words of a 28 FBI informant from Iceland trying to get out of being taken to court for his own crimes. Take away this evidence and the FBI and DOJ basically have no evidence to convict Assange.

Read more about Mr Thordarson and Julian Assange and his interview, in which he admitted he was lying to the FBI. This is something that should have helped get the US DOJ's case against Assange, thrown out of court, but somehow it persists.

This all goes to prove that the handling of Assange is more about punishing him for revealing US secrets, which journalists have been doing for time immemorial, and making him suffer rather than the actual law. Julian Assange has being denied bail, and the US carrying on trying to lie about him being a hacker rather than a journalist who did what the Guardian and New York Times also did, print materials he was given, not material he hacked and stole illegally.

The indictment states that together Mr Thordarson and Julian Assange tried to crack a password together to get into an Icelandic bank. This bank was assumed to contain information about defaulted loans provided by the Icelandic Landsbank during the 2008 banking crisis. In fact Mr Thordason already had access to this information with his own login, whether they shared that login is immaterial and outside the FBI's jurisdiction as it was in Iceland.

Julian Assange like any good journalist wanted information, and when asked what information he should get, Assange actually said "I can't give targets around for legal reasons, but Google around and find bad people". This is evidence that he was trying to keep inside the bounds of the law not break them.

All Assange is, was a publisher of information that was given to him by whistle-blowers. The same information that was printed by multiple papers around the globe. The DOJ have the problem of how to prosecute Assange without stopping free speech and the printing of information by the New York Times obtained illegally but publicly important to reveal if it is about government crimes. This is why they are trying to accuse him of being a hacker. Once you listen to the video you will hear how thin this prosecution against Assange really is.

Many people believe that this grudge against Assange relates to the emails leaked during the 2016 US election from Hillary Clinton. It doesn't, it relates to the war crimes committed by the US army in Iraq, and torture information from GITMO gathered by Chelsea Manning who has already been to jail for her crimes

This information was very embarrassing for the US as it revealed their cruel methods of killing Iraqi's, including Reuters reporters filmed from US helicopters as they joked about killing a number of men and even children that arrived in an "ambulance" to help them.

So listen to this short news piece as Ryan Grim breaks down the DOJ's indictment against Julian Assange

To read more about Mr Thordarson, and his lies, including claiming that he was a top figure at WikiLeaks and all the incriminating things he said about Assange to his FBI handlers, you can read the article in which he comes clean here > The Lying FBI Informant Trying To Imprison Julian Assange.

Julian Assange's family have just finished a tour of the US to try and raise awareness about his trial, the evidence, and the treatment he is suffering in Belmarsh jail at the moment. I doubt many MSM news channels gave them a positive light, considering they are all now Operation Mockingbird outlets, fully formed in the flesh, with real ex intelligence officers as news anchors, or guest presenters, along with all the adverts for the MIC, including Raytheon and Lockheed and Martin, during their breaks. These deep state entities control the MSM in the US now and it is the reason you cannot get real news from their shows.

They no longer need to sneak about ,and offer secret tax free salaries, as the MI5 does here in the UK to BBC reporters, as attested to in John Snows autobiography.

Instead they are now funding, advertising on, and reporting the news themselves. You are unlikely to find an unpopular view that goes against the establishment line being uttered by any guest, and if it is, they won't be invited back for sure.

So many popular commentators and journalists like Glenn Greenwald, Max Blumenthal and many others no longer appear on supposed left wing news channels like MSNBC. Instead they have to go to the right wing FOX, and use Tucker Carlson, as I write about in this article, to get their news out. For this they are smeared by left wing purists as being Right Wing.

Why is it that to get to the truth you have to get labelled crazy first, a conspiracy theorist or a nutter, before finally the truth is revealed and then everyone treats it as if it has always been so. On another matter related to news not getting out to the public.

“The government has formally and officially come out and informed Congress that these things are – A, they’re real – and two, that they’re not ours and that they seem to be performing, at least some of them … in remarkable ways,"
Even the head of Lockeheed Martin Skunkworks, designer of the Stealth bomber and many other secret planes for the US, said before his death:
We now have the technology to take ET home. No, it won’t take someone’s lifetime to do it. There is an error in the equations. We know what it is. We now have the capability to travel to the stars.”
and
“We already have the means to travel among the stars but these technologies are locked up in Black Projects…and it would take an act of God to ever get them out to benefit humanity. Anything you can imagine, we already know how to do.” - Ben Rich, Former Director of Lockheed Skunk works shortly before his passing. You can read that quote and more here.
Ex President's are admitting that something strange is going on in the skies, and scientists who have heard the news are having to re-adjust their thinking to a new paradigm due to this new evidence, a fact now admitted by the Government that UFO's or UAP's as the US DOD is calling them, really do exist. Something they and many others in authority and science fields have mocked people for believing in, for years.

Their whole world of physics should be changing right now, but how many scientists are actually aware of all this new information?

However, for most people the world just seems to carry on spinning, with hardly any news on this matter having being heard by them. They still think UFO's are a conspiracy theory, despite all the new disclosure by the US Government, Navy, Pentagon and DOD.

UAP's as the US GOV calls them, have been tracked by Naval ships, and videos that were released by the Pentagon to the public, have been online for years now. Even interviews with pilots who have been allowed to be interviewed about their experiences after chasing UAP's, such Commander David Fravor, who chased what has become known as the "Tic Tac", abound on YouTube if you look for them.

So just like Julian Assange and the threat his prosecution poses to all journalists and leakers of classified information, news that "we can take ET home", does not even make the news or get to the public.

Hopefully the video by Ryan Grim clarifies some things up for those not totally clued up to the injustice being inflicted on this centuries most prolific journalist and founder of WikiLeaks

Whether anything will get the UK judge to look into the false claims by the FBI's informant / child molesting fraudster is another matter altogether. Appeal courts do not necessarily look at new evidence, so it is debatable whether they can get this important information to the Judge so they know the FBI's case is based on lies.

If the news that UFO's are real has not hit the heads of most of the population, then what will it take to get this important news about the threat to our free speech, and our right to know what the government does with our tax money, and Julian Assange's torture, out to the people?

Key witness in Julian Assange case was lying as an FBI informant to get off charges of sexual crime against kids

How the US handles legal issues, it lies, and tortures it's targets, and uses fraudulent witnesses to boost their case.

A major witness in the United States’ Department of Justice case against Julian Assange has admitted to fabricating key accusations in the indictment against the Wikileaks founder. The witness, who has a documented history with sociopathy and has received several convictions for sexual abuse of minors and wide-ranging financial fraud, made the admission in a newly published interview in Stundin where he also confessed to having continued his crime spree whilst working with the Department of Justiceand FBI and receiving a promise of immunity from prosecution.

The man in question, Sigurdur Ingi Thordarson, was recruited by US authorities to build a case against Assange after misleading them to believe he was previously a close associate of his. In fact he had volunteered on a limited basis to raise money for Wikileaks in 2010 but was found to have used that opportunity to embezzle more than $50,000 from the organization. Julian Assange was visiting Thordarson’s home country of Iceland around this time due to his work with Icelandic media and members of parliament in preparing the Icelandic Modern Media Initiative, a press freedom project that produced a parliamentary resolution supporting whistleblowers and investigative journalism.

The United States is currently seeking Assange’s extradition from the United Kingdom in order to try him for espionage relating to the release of leaked classified documents. If convicted, he could face up to 175 years in prison. The indictment has sparked fears for press freedoms in the United States and beyond and prompted strong statements in support of Assange from Amnesty International, Reporters without borders, the editorial staff of the Washington Post and many others.

US officials presented an updated version of an indictment against him to a Magistrate court in London last summer. The veracity of the information contained therein is now directly contradicted by the main witness, whose testimony it is based on.

No instruction from Assange

The court documents refer to Mr Thordarson simply as “Teenager” (a reference to his youthful appearance rather than true age, he is 28 years old) and Iceland as “NATO Country 1” but make no real effort to hide the identity of either. They purport to show that Assange instructed Thordarson to commit computer intrusions or hacking in Iceland.

The aim of this addition to the indictment was apparently to shore up and support the conspiracy charge against Assange in relation to his interactions with Chelsea Manning. Those occurred around the same time he resided in Iceland and the authors of the indictment felt they could strengthen their case by alleging he was involved in illegal activity there as well. This activity was said to include attempts to hack into the computers of members of parliament and record their conversations.

In fact, Thordarson now admits to Stundin that Assange never asked him to hack or access phone recordings of MPs. His new claim is that he had in fact received some files from a third party who claimed to have recorded MPs and had offered to share them with Assange without having any idea what they actually contained. He claims he never checked the contents of the files or even if they contained audio recordings as his third party source suggested. He further admits the claim, that Assange had instructed or asked him to access computers in order to find any such recordings, is false.

Nonetheless, the tactics employed by US officials appear to have been successful as can be gleaned from the ruling of Magistrate Court Judge Vanessa Baraitser on January 4th of this year. Although she ruled against extradition, she did so purely on humanitarian grounds relating to Assange’s health concerns, suicide risk and the conditions he would face in confinement in US prisons. With regards to the actual accusations made in the indictment Baraitser sided with the arguments of the American legal team, including citing the specific samples from Iceland which are now seriously called into question.

Other misleading elements can be found in the indictment, and later reflected in the Magistrate’s judgement, based on Thordarson’s now admitted lies. One is a reference to Icelandic bank documents. The Magistrate court judgement reads: “It is alleged that Mr. Assange and Teenager failed a joint attempt to decrypt a file stolen from a “NATO country 1” bank”.

Thordarson admits to Stundin that this actually refers to a well publicised event in which an encrypted file was leaked from an Icelandic bank and assumed to contain information about defaulted loans provided by the Icelandic Landsbanki. The bank went under in the fall of 2008, along with almost all other financial institutions in Iceland, and plunged the country into a severe economic crisis. The file was at this time, in summer of 2010, shared by many online who attempted to decrypt it for the public interest purpose of revealing what precipitated the financial crisis. Nothing supports the claim that this file was even “stolen” per se, as it was assumed to have been distributed by whistle-blowers from inside the failed bank.

More deceptive language emerges in the aforementioned judgment where it states: “...he [Assange] used the unauthorized access given to him by a source, to access a government website of NATO country-1 used to track police vehicles.”

This depiction leaves out an important element, one that Thordarson clarifies in his interview with Stundin. The login information was in fact his own and not obtained through any nefarious means. In fact, he now admits he had been given this access as a matter of routine due to his work as a first responder while volunteering for a search and rescue team. He also says Assange never asked for any such access.

Revealing chat logs

Thordarson spoke with a journalist from Stundin for several hours as he prepared a thorough investigative report into his activities that include never before published chat logs and new documents.

The chat logs were gathered by Thordarson himself and give a comprehensive picture of his communications whilst he was volunteering for Wikileaks in 2010 and 11. It entails his talks with WikiLeaks staff as well as unauthorized communications with members of international hacking groups that he got into contact with via his role as a moderator on an open IRC WikiLeaks forum, which is a form of live online chat. There is no indication WikiLeaks staff had any knowledge of Thordarson’s contacts with aforementioned hacking groups, indeed the logs show his clear deception.

The communications there show a pattern where Thordarson is constantly inflating his position within WikiLeaks, describing himself as chief of staff, head of communications, No 2 in the organization or responsible for recruits. In these communications Thordarson frequently asks the hackers to either access material from Icelandic entities or attack Icelandic websites with so-called DDoS attacks. These are designed to disable sites and make them inaccessible but not cause permanent damage to content.

Stundin cannot find any evidence that Thordarson was ever instructed to make those requests by anyone inside WikiLeaks. Thordarson himself is not even claiming that, although he explains this as something Assange was aware of or that he had interpreted it so that this was expected of him. How this supposed non-verbal communication took place he cannot explain.

Furthermore, he never explained why WikiLeaks would be interested in attacking any interests in Iceland, especially at such a sensitive time while they were in the midst of publishing a huge trove of US diplomatic cables as part of an international media partnership. Assange is not known to have had any grievances with Icelandic authorities and was in fact working with members of parliament in updating Iceland’s freedom of press laws for the 21st century.

On the FBI radar

Thordarson's rogue acts were not limited to communications of that nature as he also admits to Stundin that he set up avenues of communication with journalists and had media pay for lavish trips abroad where he misrepresented himself as an official representative of WikiLeaks.

He also admits that he stole documents from WikiLeaks staff by copying their hard drives. Among those were documents from Renata Avila, a lawyer who worked for the organization and Mr. Assange.

Thordarson continued to step up his illicit activities in the summer of 2011 when he established communication with “Sabu”, the online moniker of Hector Xavier Monsegur, a hacker and a member of the rather infamous LulzSec hacker group

In that effort all indications are that Thordarson was acting alone without any authorization, let alone urging, from anyone inside WikiLeaks.

Well done America - You Voted For What Exactly?

US Election Goes To One Of The 70+ Year Old White Males Used As Front Men For The Real Oligarchs That Run The USA And The World.

By Dark Politricks

The US Election seems to have gone to Joe Biden, the oldest President in US history. He will be 78 in 9 days time on the 20th November. Trump was the previous oldest President at 74.

If you voted and really believe you changed things for the better I hate to dash your optimism but under Biden and the Deep State pulling his strings the US will lurch into more wars in the Middle East, maybe even back Ukraine against Russia, and even ramp things back up in Syria.

However as Biden was elected and he is pinky finger tight with the Chinese Communist Party I guess the actions Trump implemented against the country for undercutting their wages, stealing jobs, currency manipulation and mass incarceration of political figures will be reversed.

I guess however that due to Biden's own 94 Crime Bill, that he is so proud of that incarcerated millions of poor and coloured people for minor drug offences, whilst letting people like his son off on a freebie. The biggest Prison Population country in the world - the USA, with 660 people in jail per 100,000 will continue.

China isn't even on the list of the countries with the biggest prison population by capita over at www.statista.com. It seems to be the US at the top and then a list of countries in their sphere of influence, if you can narrow that area down at all.

Just forget that he is a senile old man that was talking to crowd members on rallies as if they were dead relatives and that he will probably die in office giving the position of most pretend powerful person in the world to the first woman of colour Kamala Harris. A lawyer who was only too happy to follow Biden's lead by locking millions of Californians up in privatisted prisons, basically slave labour for the big corporations to exploit.

No sign of a mass release from incarceration for all those people in jail for marijuana possession in states that have now legalised it though

You would have thought that could have been the least they could have done for those suffering on a 3rd strike life sentence for minor drug felonies that lawyers and TV presenters can now smoke in public without fear of arrest.

What did you actually vote for when you put that X next to Biden & Harris's name on your ballot paper?

It certainly wasn't for any of the following:
  • Peace, I expect wars to be started and aggression based on fake news accusing Russia of meddling in their election process again by posting nasty memes on Facebook to be instigated by the MIC. The POTUS will obviously agree, he has never seen a war he didn't like and vote for.
  • Health Care for the poor and under insured. Have a pre-existing condition, well Medicare isn't rolled out for all and Obamacare is a plaster and give away to big pharma at best. The COVID19 pandemic has enriched the insurance industries coffers and any vaccine that is rolled out and maybe even forcibly injected into concerned citizens will only help make their bottom line quite nice indeed.
  • Education, and lower fee's for those wanting to go to University and not leave with a Mortgage size debt on their heads. All the US would have to do is close down a few hundred of the 600+ military bases they have all over the world in their Military Empire. Think the US isn't an Empire? Well why does nearly every Western European country and many Eastern nations have US military bases on their land. The 2nd World War is over. Germany doesn't need US bases to spy on their own Chancellor and government. It has already been proven that if Russia wanted to invade Europe they would wipe us out within a few hours. Nothing the US has in Europe would stop the feet and missiles of the Russian's if they did indeed want war. Not that they do, the US likes to pretend they do, but they are only reacting to the US pulling out of weapon treaties and surrounding their country with base after base. Russia has been invaded from the West 3 times in the last couple of centuries. You must forgive them for being a bit paranoid when they see NATO breaking pledges made when the Berlin wall fell to "not move a single inch closer to Russia".
  • End the pointless drug war. Some ballots in states legalised Weed, others like Oregon have made possession of small amounts of Heroin, Cocaine and Methamphetamine punishable not by forced labour in a privatised prison but by a fine. The profits from the growing weed industry will be used to create drug rehab centres to help those caught up in the cycle of drugs that the US government itself engaged in importing and helping spread across the country. From the creation of the CIA, to the Golden Triangle, Iran Contra and Afghanistan the US Deep State has always used money from drugs to fund their "Off Book" activities.
  • Actual real governance by the people. The refusal of Trump to leave office has made Bill Maher look like a prophet and the ridiculous nature of US elections where the people "selected" to become members of Congress and the Senate is up to the State and not any kind of popular vote is plainly undemocratic. The nature of the Electoral Collage is antiquated and should be removed. Jimmy Dore showed a FOX map of where the key areas of the US electoral campaigns are fought and it didn't contain any Western or Eastern coastal cities like LA, San Fransisco, New York, Miami, Philadelphia etc. There are only a few key swing states that matter in Presidential elections and they are usually in less populated areas mid country. It's why we always hear about the decision of Ohio, a state not normally mentioned in the news much at all apart from Presidential elections. Why the US can't have an national electoral register like the UK, which would prevent ballots going missing, fake ballots being sent in and duplicate voting I don't know. Surely the US wants to know who is inside their borders anyway and give those people a chance to vote. A national electoral register would stop Republicans wiping thousands of names off in red states, and prevent the "fraudulent" voting that Trump is clinging tight to in a vain hope of staying in power.

Well I am sure there are many things not mentioned that are going to occur in the next 4 and maybe 8 years of a senile old racist war mongers stay in office, however long or short it is. However we can be sure that the fat cats in Wall St, the lobbyists from AIPAC and the MIC will be throwing money into politicians pockets to get their way.

Also we are entering uncharted territory now with the Silicon Valley Nexus of influence being able to swing elections one way or another. No it's not by Russian meme's showing Bernie Sanders in LGBT colours but Google, YouTube and Facebook denying people the right to information that would inform them of their decision when voting that swings elections now. The Democrats tried to portray the Biden laptop scandal as a Russian plot, even saying that if true they should still just treat it as if it was a Russia dis-info campaign. How mad is that?

When Google and Facebook can sway an election by using their complex algorithms to only show you one kind of news and discussion about a candidate and YouTube just removes any video that mentions certain people's names or scandals then it's time these companies are broken up. They are a monopoly and when we have massive monopolies like Amazon, with Jeff Bezos getting even richer off the lock-downs across the world, where non essential shops like book stores are closed but they can continue to deliver them by the slave load we are entering the Brave New World we have been warned about for decades. The Great Reset is coming and it may change our lives forever.

COVID19 has already conditioned people to literally beg to be imprisoned then suffer mental health issues from solitary confinement in many cases. Wear a mask or get a fine. Driving in an area not near your home without a good reason, get a fine, dare to ask questions and protest against the draconian measures, get a fine. We are going to come out of this pandemic with hardly anybody using cash anymore as the sheeple have been conditioned over 2020 to use contact-less payments in shops and not notes or coins which "may" transmit the virus.

However do you want to live in a world where the Government knows everything you spend your money on and can remove in the blink of an eye fines from your bank account for breaking speed limits or daring to spend benefit money on alcohol or betting or go even further and implement a Chinese style Social Credit System of control over the population?

I hope you don't but then I hope you knew what you were actually voting for when you made that mark or pressed a button in a voting booth last week. So did you really?

The Drug Laws Need Rethinking

The Drug Laws Need Rethinking

By Dark Politricks

With the recent changing of Marijuana back up to a class B drug in the UK and the sacking of its head drug advisor due to public comments about smoking and drinking being more harmful than most drugs its worth looking at our crazy drug laws and wondering whether any governing party will ever have the balls to actually try and tackle the problem properly.

The fact is that our stupid drug laws in the west have not led to less drug users but more users, more deaths, more addicts and more money for the people at the top who control the trade. I am of the belief that all drugs should be made legal so that they can be controlled correctly and safely.

Certain drugs like Marijuana should be allowed to be home grown for personal consumption anyway and the more problematic drugs like heroin and crack cocaine should be regulated for the good of society as the current legal framework definitely does not lead to anything good for society just lots of people in jail, high crime rates, millions of addicts and deaths due to the lack of quality assurance that comes with an underground illegal trade.
The biggest problem is with Heroin, a drug that if taken in its pure form addicts can lead normal healthy lives but because of its illegality means that people die regularly.
Not only is overdose an issue because strength cannot be gauged by sight alone and there is no helpful packaging to let the user know how strong it is but because of impurities added to smack, the latest being Anthrax spores from a type of mud mixed in because it looks like the powder, addicts regularly die of other causes.
If the drug was controlled like it was before the 1973 misuse of drugs Act came into action in the UK then addicts could receive their dose from a doctor and lead normal lives with the offer of help to come off it when they are ready.
With a clean, free or cheap supply of the drug then the black market trade would surely decrease if not stop due to their being no money to be made. The only potential customers would be the "new" addict in waiting, the school kid or experimenter as anyone already hooked would be receiving their dose through regulated channels. Why risk banging up brick dust or Anthrax spores when you can get a pure shot from your GP?
As for the crime rate, insurance premiums, prison population size and taxes they would all come down.
Heroin and Crack addicts rob to pay the hugely inflated prices for their dose. An acre of poppy field can be bought in India or Afghanistan for less than a hundred pounds but a gram in the UK can cost up to £50. Therefore the markup on this product is immense and considering that a purity percentage of 30-50% is considered pretty good there is ample scope for dealers to cut the product to bump up their profits.
Most burglaries, robberies and theft is committed by addicts looking for money to pay for their fix.
Prisons are full of addicts and we all know that there is not enough rehabilitation occurring inside due to the high cost of actually trying to solve a problem as complex as an individuals life. However this is very short sighted as the cost of trying to wean an addict off drugs and help them rebuild their life is far outweighed by the costs of policing, insurance claims, court costs and the cost of holding someone in prison and feeding them.
Someone convicted of a theft related crime related to their drug addiction should not be given a criminal record and sent to prison but instead should be sent to special new detox centers which should be built on mass in this country.
Prisons should be kept for those convicted of violent offences or bankers who fraudulently steal billions but an addict who is forced to steal for their habit should be treated not punished. These centers would be locked down unlike open prisons and after detoxing there should be rehabilitation and life training, and before leaving the user should be provided with a Naltrexone implant to give them a clean next 6 months.
The cost of such an approach maybe high in the short term but in the long term it would pay huge dividends. The problem is that no governing party in the UK has ever been able to promote such an approach even if they had wanted to due to the moral outrage that such a policy would erupt inside Daily Mail readers who would think that this was "being soft on drugs".
There were signs that our government was starting to see the light when it moved Cannabis to class C down from Class B.
However with the recent re-classification of it back up to a Class B most people do not realise that this shift has actually meant that the punishments for Class C drugs are now more harsh than ever.
This is because when Cannabis was moved down a class the penalties for all Class C drugs which included non-prescribed Benzo's, Barbs and so on went up. So what we are actually left with is actually a more harsher drugs regime than if the Labour government had just kept Weed as Class B in the first place.
Unfortunately the government is very two faced when it comes to drugs as one side says "Just say no" whilst the other darker side actively supports drug smuggling and uses the money for "off the book" operations that they don't want to have to pass through Government for approval. Governments have always been involved in drugs even before they were made illegal and the UK even went to war with China over their refusal to allow us to sell Opium to their citizens.
The CIA has been a well known drug smuggler since the days of their predecessor the OSS, Air America during Vietnam, the original Russian Afghanistan war, The Iran Contra scandal and now the new rise in Afghan poppy production that Blair and co promised to eradicate. I
n fact the biggest drug dealer of the 80's, a Burmese war lord named Khun Sa claimed that the CIA were one of his best customers!
by 1986 he was refining 80 percent of the opium harvest in the Golden Triangle. The king of opium trade, Khun Sa had risen to become the world's largest single heroin trafficker by controlling 60 percent of the world's illicit opium supply.
In 1986, Bo Gritz went to Burma with White House approval to meet with Khun Sa who supposedly had information on American MIAs. Khun Sa said that he wanted to end the opium and heroin traffic in his territory and to expose American officials involved in the drug smuggling.
Gritz claimed that he took this message to the United States government and was told by Tom Harvey of the National Security Council that "there is no interest here" in the Khun Sa overture. Gritz had in his possession 40 hours of video tape of Khun Sa who "charged American officials, both past and present, with being the chief buyers of drugs produced in that part of the world." He also claimed that he wanted to stop drug trafficking, but that the United States government would not let him.
Khun Sa said that the CIA were some of his best customers. He offered support to the DEA to alert them of drug movements, but this was rejected at the headquarters level.
For more information about the CIA's involvement in drug smuggling please read the following articles:
Also more recently we have been at war in Afghanistan for almost 20 years and it is intrinsically linked to the rise in Opium production which the Taliban banned in 2001. Also the current Western puppet rulers of the country, President Karzai and his brothers are supposedly the biggest Opium dealers in the country that supplies over 92% of all Heroin/Opium used in the world today.
With all these powerful vested interests that are involved in the continuing black economy of illegal drug smuggling it is no wonder that there is no serious move by any western government to come up with a sensible drug policy.
Just by being illegal, the price of drugs is pushed up beyond any other commodity and the drug industry is worth billions of pounds a year which is a pretty powerful incentive by those making money out of it to carry on with the status quo.
People worry about drugs being legal thinking that this would drive demand up but many studies have shown this not to be the case and in fact there is a certain kudos involved with the substance being illegal which actually stimulates demand especially in young people.
We all know the types of children that if you told them they couldn't do something they would go out and do the opposite purely because its a "forbidden fruit". We already have a huge demand for illicit drugs in this country as well as the rest of the world so any increase would surely be negligible and by legalising or even de-crimilising and regulating the market we would save billions of pounds and hundreds of lives a year.
Maybe the New Year will bring along a politician with the balls to create a proper public debate about this matter and not be scared by the "moral majority" on the right which like to shout loud about other peoples indiscretions whilst keeping their own kinky fetishes, perversions and misdeeds locked behind closed doors.
If the good of the country matters anything to anybody then the hypocrisy must stop.
Talking tough on drugs and sacking advisers who give rational scientific advice whilst allowing the sale of cigarettes and alcohol to continue even though they kill hundreds of thousands a year makes no sense.
If the government wants to pay off our national debt quickly then maybe the legalisation of drugs could be the answer. Just imagine all that tax revenue that would be brought in by the millions who smoke weed every day and pop E's each weekend.
I have never understood the hypocrisy that says that if a doctor prescribes me a Valium for anxiety its perfectly fine but if I take an non-prescribed one for pleasure or to help with a plane flight its considered morally wrong.
This dubious moral line is one which is illogical and should be scrapped straight away. Millions of people every day and night in clubs, pubs and homes across the country are sticking two fingers up and saying "Fuck You" to the stupid drug laws. We just need someone to listen.
The politicians need to realise that any war on drugs just like any war on terror cannot be won as its an illogical concept in the first place.
There will always be drugs and always people willing to take them.
Maybe if the country wasn't such a shit and depressing place where people could see a future that they could control and take a part in forming then taking drugs wouldn't be such a good escape. So maybe if the government wants to continue with its current policy and avoid legalisation like the plague it should concentrate on making the country a better place to live.
Just a thought for the New Year!

Help Stop Clare's Law being a woman only law - make all UK Law equal to Men and Women by writing to your MP!

Help Stop Clare's Law being a woman only law - make all UK Law equal to Men and Women by writing to your MP!

By Dark Politricks

If you read my latest article you will know I was a bit annoyed about the new Clare's Law which was being brought into the UK nationwide.

This law would let women ask the local Police for any criminal history about their new partner. The new law would not apply to men who make up 40% of all domestic abuse victims.

The disturbing thing about this law is that it divides our judicial system into a sexist one where one law exists for men and another for women.

Also the police are able to give out "suspicions" and "allegations" to the inquisitive woman which might not be truthful or correct.

How many vindictive women are out there which would claim that their ex partner beat or abused them because they are upset or jealous that they split up?

I don't know, but I do know that we have had multiple recent court cases where women have been prosecuted and sometimes jailed for making false claims of rape against men. The most recent one being the case of Natasha Foster who was jailed for 3 years for making up a claim of rape against an ex boyfriend.

Therefore if you think this new law couldn't in any way affect you then think again.

Not only could your current partner lie and make a false claim of abuse but just by alleging an offence took place, even if it didn't result in a court case, it could still be treated as an "allegation" serious enough to be given out to future partners.

Also old crimes that should be "spent" after a period of time under the 1974 Rehabilitation of Offenders Act will still be eligible for the Police to give out to future partners even if the crime happened many years ago. This goes against the whole point of the 1974 law as the crime is not even supposed to be on your record any more.

This turns the whole concept of our criminal justice act on its head. Supposedly, under this law, once you have spent your crime you are "rehabilitated" and therefore allowed to not mention it on job application forms of other legal documents that ask about criminal convictions.

This new Clare's Law, like the Criminal Records Bureau checks before it, have totally negated the nature of the 1974 Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and could throw any chance of rehabilitation away for ex-offenders.

For example if you had a fight with a man 20 years ago this should supposedly be "spent" and no longer on your record. You should be able to apply to jobs and not even mention the event.

However under Clare's Law the police could give this information out if they felt it was "relevant". This in itself is leaving a very important matter up to a low-level Police officer rather than a Judge or Magistrate.

Here is what is "supposed" to happen when you have committed a crime and then "spend" it by passing a specified length of time which is dependant on the seriousness and nature of the offence.

I quote directly from the Home Offices own page on the law:
Subject to subsection (2) below, where an individual has been convicted, whether before or after the commencement of this Act, of any offence or offences, and the following conditions are satisfied, that is to say—

(a)he did not have imposed on him in respect of that conviction a sentence which is excluded from rehabilitation under this Act; and

(b)he has not had imposed on him in respect of a subsequent conviction during the rehabilitation period applicable to the first-mentioned conviction in accordance with section 6 below a sentence which is excluded from rehabilitation under this Act;

then, after the end of the rehabilitation period so applicable (including, where appropriate, any extension under section 6(4) below of the period originally applicable to the first-mentioned conviction) or, where that rehabilitation period ended before the commencement of this Act, after the commencement of this Act, that individual shall for the purposes of this Act be treated as a rehabilitated person in respect of the first-mentioned conviction and that conviction shall for those purposes be treated as spent.

Read the full law here: The Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
Therefore after my earlier rant I wrote to my local MP about this matter and I got a response back telling me that he will raise the matter with the Home Secretary.

Here is the letter I received:

Dear Mr ....

Thank you for your email in which you pose some interesting questions which I shall submit to the Home secretary.  I shall let you know when I have a reply.

Best wishes

Sir Gerald Howarth MP Member of Parliament for Aldershot House of Commons London SW1A 0AA

Therefore I suggest anyone else, male or female, who is concerned about our whole criminal justice system being split into two - one for men and another for women, complain to their MP, or directly to the Home Secretary ASAP.

You can find your local MP and contact them directly online here > http://findyourmp.parliament.uk/

Here is the letter I sent to my own MP. If you cannot think of your own version feel free to copy it and change wording as you see fit.
Dear [YOUR MP's NAME],

Can I enquire about the introduction of the new "Clare's law" which is apparently going to be rolled out across the country.

From the news reports it seems that this law is only going to apply to women even though a reported 40% of victims of domestic violence are now men.

I quote directly from a report made from Home Office statistics which was reported in the Observer > http://www.theguardian.com/society/2010/sep/05/men-victims-domestic-violence

"About two in five of all victims of domestic violence are men, contradicting the widespread impression that it is almost always women who are left battered and bruised, a new report claims.

Men assaulted by their partners are often ignored by police, see their attacker go free and have far fewer refuges to flee to than women, says a study by the men's rights campaign group Parity.

The charity's analysis of statistics on domestic violence shows the number of men attacked by wives or girlfriends is much higher than thought. Its report, Domestic Violence: The Male Perspective, states:

"Domestic violence is often seen as a female victim/male perpetrator problem, but the evidence demonstrates that this is a false picture."

Data from Home Office statistical bulletins and the British Crime Survey show that men made up about 40% of domestic violence victims each year between 2004-05 and 2008-09, the last year for which figures are available. In 2006-07 men made up 43.4% of all those who had suffered partner abuse in the previous year, which rose to 45.5% in 2007-08 but fell to 37.7% in 2008-09."

Therefore can I ask you the following questions:

-Will men be able to find out if potential new female partners are violent and in this age of supposed equality surely any law should be equally applicable to men and women?

-What actual information will be given out to women enquiring about their partner?

-How does this new law effect the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 in which convictions are supposedly "spent" after a number of years. For example if I was arrested and convicted for a street fight against another man when I was 18 will that information be given out?

-What about if a women had made a false claim of rape against me which led to no charge or conviction? From the reporting it seems that even "accusations" true or not can be given out. How would that effect men who have been falsely accused of rape or other violent crimes.

-How are you going to handle "deliberate" misleading reports of domestic abuse by former partners who are upset that their relationships have broken up. I can see no better way for an annoyed ex to get back at me than claim to the Police that I hit or abused her and therefore ensure any future partner I might have could be told about it. It could potentially ruin relationships and allow manipulative women to purposefully ruin lives.

Also I would like to state that in a country where we are all supposedly innocent until found guilty the only way guilt is proven is by a conviction in a court of law.

Therefore giving out "accusations" and "rumours" goes against a supposed long standing maxim of our country that all are equal under the law until proven guilty.

Can you please ask the Home Secretary how she can claim we live under the rule of law when it is not applied equally to all?

Surely in this day and age of female equality when websites exist that let women brag about beating men up > http://www.likelike.com/pollcommentary/2408 we should all be equal under the law, rather than having two sets of laws dependant on the sex you are born as.

Yours sincerely,

[YOUR NAME]

Hopefully if enough of us can get questions raised in Parliament or MP's actually thinking about the consequences of their new laws they may think again.

I have no problem with sensible measures to protect women from horrible domestic abuse.

However any law in a democratically country should be equally applied and it should not negate previous laws in doing so.

Please help our politicians understand this.

Farewell to a brave whistle blower - Bradley Manning

Private Bradley Manning, gave up his life to expose war crimes

By Dark Politricks

With the news today that Bradley Manning has been convicted of 19 out of 21 offenses, the only good news is that he had not been charged with the more serious charge of "aiding the enemy" plus he wasn't found guilty of espionage for showing the war crimes revealed in the infamous “Collateral Murder” video.

However even without the most serious charges unless the Judge is very lenient with his sentencing Bradley Manning is looking at a very long stretch for daring to speak to truth to the most powerful military force on the planet.

For that he must be admired. Anyone willing to give up their life, which is what Manning has basically done by pleading guilty to crimes that could see him spend the best years of his life in prison, should be praised for that sacrifice.

Yes we all knew that the US forces in Iraq were slaughtering innocent civilians. That Xe/Blackwater employees had engaged in massacres on multiple occasions that were covered up.

That British forces were prepared to raid Iraqi prisons to release soldiers suspected of staging false flag terror attacks, and that torture was a daily occurrence by all allied forces from UK bases to the Abu Ghraib prison.

However when WikiLeaks released the Collateral Murder video it revealed the extent of the callousness that US soldiers showed towards the Iraqi population.

The US neo-con talking heads, COINTELPRO and Agent Mockingbird placed government mouths shouted "treason" and demanded WikiLeaks be shut down. They even managed to get Amazon, PayPal and hosting companies to block services that WikiLeaks were legally entitled to. They saw this act of whistleblowing not for what it was, an attempt to reveal US war crimes but high treason.

Remember that President Obama had promised on the campaign trail, before being elected, to provide more protection for people willing to blow the whistle on government crimes. He promised the following:
Protect Whistleblowers: Often the best source of information about waste, fraud, and abuse in government is an existing government employee committed to public integrity and willing to speak out. Such acts of courage and patriotism, which can sometimes save lives and often save taxpayer dollars, should be encouraged rather than stifled as they have been during the Bush administration. We need to empower federal employees as watchdogs of wrongdoing and partners in performance. Barack Obama will strengthen whistleblower laws to protect federal workers who expose waste, fraud, and abuse of authority in government. Obama will ensure that federal agencies expedite the process for reviewing whistleblower claims and whistleblowers have full access to courts and due process.
However, as expected, he did a full 360 and instead has gone down in history as the POTUS who has gone after more whistleblowers than any other President in history.

In fact the Obama administration has prosecuted twice as many cases under the Espionage Act as all other administrations combined. Under the President, the Justice Department has prosecuted six cases regarding national security leaks. Before he took office, federal prosecutors had used the Espionage Act in only three cases.

This is a President who promised the world, hope and change. The world was so drunk on his promises and so willing to believe that he would be so much different from the neo-con, pro-war, Bush administration that they even gave him a Nobel Peace prize days into his administration.

I wonder how foolish those people feel now?

I wonder if President Obama can even stomach to look at the prize or does he actually believe that he has brought the hope and change he bribed the public with into office?

In reality the only change was the colour of the skin of the President and Obama took Bush policies and rammed them full of steroids.

He has kept the Constitution killing PATRIOT ACT and added another Bill of Right destroying piece of legislation to it, the NDAA, that authorises him to lock up and even kill American citizens on his say so alone.

The sad thing is that so many people still voted for him for a second term. Did they really believe he would change his spots because he didn't have to run for office again?

Maybe he is scared of ending up like MLK or JFK.

Maybe he is being bribed by more powerful string pullers who know the truth of his sex and drugs past.

Maybe he is just too weak to stand up to the real power brokers.

Or maybe he was just a bare-faced liar who didn't realise that people would actually expect him to do as he promised once elected.

Nothing shows how illiberal the Democratic President of the United States is than his treatment of the US public over recent privacy invasions by the NSA and Prism. And nothing shows how much he want's these state crimes to remain secret than his lust for punishment to those who dare reveal the nature of the Governments lurch towards a police state, people such as Snowden and Assange, Sibel Edmonds and Thomas Drake to name a few.

The ACLU has accused the US government of "seeking to intimidate" anyone who might consider becoming a whistleblower in the future by prosecuting Bradley Manning under the Espionage Act.

Here's the ACLU's full statement commenting on the Manning verdict:
While we're relieved that Mr. Manning was acquitted of the most dangerous charge, the ACLU has long-held the view that leaks to the press in the public interest should not be prosecuted under the Espionage Act," said Ben Wizner, director of the ACLU's Speech, Privacy and Technology Project. "Since he already pleaded guilty to charges of leaking information – which carry significant punishment – it seems clear that the government was seeking to intimidate anyone who might consider revealing valuable information in the future.
It is clear from the President's words, his NSA heads words and all the talking heads that parrot the National Security point of view that they believe that they are doing nothing wrong by illegally wiretapping millions of people without warrants.

They apparently don't see anything wrong with the mass searching and storing of emails, instant messages, photos, videos, phone calls and other telecommunications for later analysis.

Not only does this breach the supposed law of the land, the US constitution, but it is immoral and devious behaviour that treats every US and NON US citizen as a potential terrorist to be monitored and watched. Then again I have been saying for years that the war on terror was not designed to catch terrorists.

How could it be when our supposed enemy al-Qaeda was created by the CIA to fight the Soviets and has been used by both the CIA and MI6 to destabilise countries and fight proxy wars in Kosovo, Libya and now Syria. The most gagged woman in history, Sibel Edmonds, revealed that bin-Laden and al-Qaeda has close links with the CIA right up to 9.11!

With such close ties to our supposed enemy it was always clear that the real role of the war on terror was to roll back civil liberties and increase the possibility of implementing a high-tech surveillance state by using the threat of terrorism as an excuse.

People are more likely to be killed by lightning or in a plane crash than to be killed by a terrorist attack. Therefore we are fooling ourselves if we think this massive billion dollar spy industry is for own benefit. We have allowed ourselves to walk into a surveillance society by just doing nothing.

Just by allowing Facebook, Google, Microsoft and other Internet companies to store, sell and milk our private information for fun it makes it so much harder to draw the line when those companies then link up with the Government and do it "for our security".

However if the recent Manning, Snowden, Assange and NSA stories are anything they are warning signs that our Government cares little for our thoughts and wishes.

As we say farewell to Bradley Manning, a brave whistleblower who is going to prison for a long time, it is far too late to blow the whistle on this new surveillance state. The train left the platform years ago and we all stood and waved goodbye.

Help Bust Bradley Manning Out Of Jail!

Help Bust Bradley Manning Out Of Jail!

By Dark Politricks

This is a campaign video for the organisation "I am Bradley Manning".

They are campaigning for the release of the young tortured whistleblower who had the balls to see something wrong and stand up and be counted. They also want the charge "aiding the enemy" dropped.

As the video says not many young soldiers would be brave enough to see a war crime committed and try and do and something about it and whistle blowers are supposed to be protected by US law.

However we all know that isn't true as President Obama (a supposed Liberal) has persecuted more whistleblowers than any other President in history.

However instead of being protected Bradley Manning has been tortured and humiliated through lack of visits and daylight, plus forced to stay naked in his cell (for his own safety of course).

He now faces a long time in prison, and maybe even the death penalty, particularly due to the "aiding the enemy" charge.

All the time he is up in court he can be proud to know that he is a Nobel Peace Prize nominee and that thousands of people are supporting and thinking about his plight.

Please visit the website iam.bradleymanning.org and show your support.

Also pass the link on and help the site anyway you can by promoting it and subscribing to the mailing list.

The sites mission statement says the following:
Amidst courtroom secrecy, whistleblower and Nobel Peace Prize nominee Bradley Manning is on trial after three years of confinement.

The information that Bradley gave to the public has been a catalyst for pro-democracy movements in the Arab world, exposed the unjust detainment of innocent people at Guantanamo Bay, shown us the true human cost of our wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and changed journalism forever.

There is no evidence that anyone died as a result of the leaked information, yet Bradley faces life in prison or possibly death. The greatest charge against him is that of “aiding the enemy,” a capital offence. As the public who benefited from this information, does that make us the enemy?

What price will future whistleblowers pay?

I have added a link to the "I am Bradley Manning" site to my list of campaigns down the right hand side of the page and I have also just realised I still had a link to the "Free Gary McKinnon" campaign site down there.

Whilst the unfair and unbalanced extradition treaty between the US and UK has still not be resolved yet - particularly due to the feeble version of the Freedom Bill ( or Protection of Freedoms Bill ) that was actually passed when compared to the original proposed Freedom billGary McKinnon himself has won his battle to not be extradited to the USA.

Therefore I will be removing the link as his future has been secured and he will not be prosecuted by English courts either.

Therefore I am happy to tick a campaign off my list!

If you missed the reasons why, and the outrage from the Americans following Theresa May's decision not to extradite him, then the following article from the site explains the reasons why.

Remember the site is still campaigning to get the extradition laws changed:
Joint CPS/MPS statement on the case of Gary McKinnon

Statement by Keir Starmer QC, Director of Public Prosecutions, and Assistant Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Service on the case of Gary McKinnon

Between 1 February 2001 and 19 March 2002, Gary McKinnon allegedly gained unauthorised access to 97 United States (US) Government computers. An investigation was launched in the US and a request for assistance was made to the National Hi-Tech Crime Unit in England and Wales. Following discussions between the US Department of Justice, the police and the Crown Prosecution Service in the autumn of 2002, a decision was taken that the appropriate place for Mr McKinnon to be tried was the United States.

The reasons for that decision were:

The harm occurred in the US - the activity was directed against the military infrastructure of the US; An investigation had already been launched in the US; There were a large number of witnesses, most of whom were located in the US; All of the physical evidence (with the exception of Mr McKinnon's computer) was located in the US; The US prosecutors were able to bring a case that reflected the full extent of Mr McKinnon's alleged criminality; and The bulk of the unused material was located in the US. Given the nature of the offence, this inevitably included highly sensitive information and the US courts were best placed to deal with any issues arising in relation to this material.

As a result, the US sought Mr McKinnon's extradition from England and Wales for trial in the US.

The decision that the appropriate place for Mr McKinnon to be tried was the US was affirmed in 2009 and subsequently challenged in the High Court. That challenge failed. As Lord Justice Stanley Burnton said in his judgment: "... [it is] the decision of the DPP, which I consider to be lawful and unchallengeable, not to prosecute him here ... the USA is the appropriate forum for his prosecution."

On 16 October 2012, the Home Secretary decided not to extradite Mr McKinnon to the US on the basis of his health. She also announced that it was now for the DPP to decide whether Mr McKinnon had a case to answer in a UK court. At that stage there was no live criminal investigation in England and Wales, nor had there been for many years.

The DPP and the Assistant Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police therefore agreed to convene a joint police/CPS panel to consider whether a new criminal investigation should be commenced.

None of the reasons for the original decision in 2002 that the appropriate place for Mr McKinnon to be tried was the United States have altered. So far as the evidence is concerned, the position in 2012 is the same as it was in 2002. Most of the witnesses are in the US, as is nearly all the physical evidence and the bulk of the unused material, some of which is sensitive. Accordingly, in November this year, the CPS and the police met senior officials from the US Department of Justice to discuss the possibility of bringing the US witnesses to England and Wales for trial and of transferring all the US material to this jurisdiction to be considered.

The potential difficulties in bringing a case in England and Wales now should not be underestimated, not least the passage of time, the logistics of transferring sensitive evidence prepared for a court in the US to LONDON for trial, the participation of US government witnesses in the trial and the need fully to comply with the duties of disclosure imposed on the CPS. The prospects of a conviction against Mr McKinnon which reflects the full extent of his alleged criminality are not high.

After consulting with the Metropolitan Police Service and the CPS and having carefully considered matters, on 4 December this year, US authorities indicated to us that they would be willing to co-operate with a prosecution in England and Wales if that would serve the interest of justice. However, they do not consider that making all the US witnesses available for trial in London and transferring all of the US material to this jurisdiction would be in the interests of justice given our representations and the reasons for the decision that the US was the appropriate forum as set out above. That is a decision the US authorities are fully entitled to reach and we respect their decision.

Against this background, the joint CPS/police panel recommended to the Assistant Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police that he should not commence a new criminal investigation into Mr McKinnon. The Assistant Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police has accepted that advice.
Therefore I am very happy to remove this link now Gary McKinnon is safe from US prison life.

You can still visit the site at freegary.org.uk to get up to date information on details to any changes to the extradition treaty if and when they happen.

I just hope I can remove this campaign link for iam.bradleymanning.org as soon as possible.
